Semi-Pro, Sandlot, Industrial league play. Typically 18 to 24 age range, although talented players into their 30's play semi-pro baseball. Players have no fees & some players may receive compensation. Most teams and leagues are NCAA compliant for the college players to participate. Companies or communities typically own each team, some teams have their players contribute to cover expenses. Semi-Pro Leagues offer a high level of play for the professional to work his way back to Independent or Major league play. The leagues offer the college player a high level of talent and exposure to players that have experienced pro ball. American or National League rules ... seldom with any modifications. Without saying...wood bats...after all it is baseball, not beat the leather ball with a metal pipe.
